All Vote-By-Mail ballot requests in Florida have expired. Here's how to request a new one ahead of the 2024 elections.

All Vote-By-Mail ballot requests in Florida expired at the end of 2022 after Senate Bill 90 passed, which means any voter who wants to vote with a mail ballot will need to submit a new request for a new mail ballot for 2024.

Prior to Senate Bill 90's passage, Florida voters could elect to automatically receive a Vote-By-Mail ballot for every election for up to four years.

Under the new legislation, "voters can request to receive a Vote-By-Mail ballot that covers all elections through the end of the calendar year for the next ensuing regularly scheduled general election, unless otherwise indicated to specifically apply to certain elections only within such period," according to the Florida Division of Elections.

The quickest way to request a new Vote-By-Mail ballot is electronically on your county Supervisor of Elections website via the Mail Ballot Request Service. We checked, and 65 out of the 67 counties offer this online service. Check below for a link to your Mail Ballot Request Service portal.

A request for a Vote-By-Mail ballot can be made in one of the following ways:

— Online with your county Supervisor of Elections using the Mail Ballot Request Service
— By signed writing (mail, fax or scanned attachment to an email) to your county Supervisor of Elections
— In person at your Supervisor of Elections office
— Calling your Supervisor of Elections

The voter requesting the ballot must include the following information:

— Name
— Date of birth
— Address (If the request is to mail the ballot to an address other than the one on file, the request must be a signed writing. An exception exists for an absent uniformed service voter or an overseas voter seeking a Vote-By-Mail ballot.)
— Florida driver's license, Florida identification card or the last four digits of your social security number
— Signature (if the request is written)

The deadline to request that a Vote-By-Mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5 p.m. on the 10th day before an election. A Supervisor of Elections must mail the ballot within two business days after the request. The last day for a Supervisor of Elections to be able to mail out a ballot is eight days before an election.

Visit the Florida Division of Elections for more information.
